October 05, 2004 waiting

fenway park, boston, massachusetts, for solitude at i-gizmo.com.

last night was the 'rally monday' before the playoffs. 6000 people showed up on a monday night with maybe 8 hours' notice. never let anyone tell you that the red sox are no longer first in the hearts of new englanders. i went mainly so that i could sit in fenway again, seeing as how i've had zero luck getting playoff tickets. this is looking up a ramp in the right-field grandstands while a police officer has an easy night watching a cheerful crowd. but the thing is, you can't see any of those people. just empty seats and the green monster. so he just looks lonely.

~after last night's rally in extra innings I cannot image all the people who usually fill those seats being unhappy...I/eye like your shot and the fit for the theme...a great ballyard, one of the best I have ever been in, and even though I enjoy PNC Park here in Pittsburgh as a season ticket holder, I'd give up my season tix for a shot at season tix at Fenway!~

It's been absolutely insane here for the past two weeks, needless to say. This past summer i had the pleasure of seeing a game in Pittsburgh, and indeed, PNC Park is very nice (and has nice big seats with plenty of room for my knees). But of course, Fenway will always be 'home' for me...
