February 22, 2004 winter picnic

castle island, south boston, ma

it's quite normal to think that a grassy lawn is a nice place to sit down in the summer when it's a verdant green, and this one is no exception in that time of year. but strangely, it seems inviting in a different way when it's uniformly browned from too much time under snow. make no mistake, though, sitting down today would earn you a wet ass.
