a lazy morning

as a kid
aimless morning television was
a highlight
inextricable from the experience of summer

but something's lost about it now
good morning america seems appallingly pointless
the ads on sportscenter all seem to have the
unwritten message of
'this is why you work during the day'

this is why i don't take
[precious rare]
days off
when i'm not going somewhere

but today i am going somewhere

a meticulously packed bag awaits

but there are only three things that matter

wallet
passport
camera

and off we go
