ascii star wars via telnet. a wonderful public service.
i’m not yet sure what to think about the red sox. there’s never enough pitching, goes the cliche, and an early spate of injuries proves it yet again. they’re going to need better work from either matsuzaka or lester or both, because based on past years’ work, they don’t have a consistently number-two quality starter right now, and really, the closest thing to one is tim wakefield (who was unhittable for a ten-game stretch last year). right now lester and matsuzaka are no better than his mix of great and spotty, which is nothing to sneeze at, but they need better.
the mls season also starts today in foxboro; i’m not going to make it to a game until may, as the schedule works out, but i’ll look forward to that anyway. it’s exciting to see the revs actually make some changes, even of those changes are of their typical low cost-high ceiling variety. they take on the dreaded creamsicles tonight. if you follow the mls or soccer in general, steven goff’s soccer insider at the washington post is a must-read.
it’s been an awfully long, tiring, and frustrating week, busy both in and out of work. i’ll be excited for my roommate to finish her paper so that i can finally catch up on sleep. so light a sleeper am i that the alarm that fails to wake her at 5 works fine on me in the next room. oh well.
this morning, as i waited at a red light behind numerous cars going straight while myself intending to go right, a car behind me got the bright idea of coming out of a shopping plaza, driving half on the sidewalk next to me, through a gas station, and onto the crossing street, beating me to his destination by a decisive five seconds. kudos to you, fuckface.
