running one

i’ve lived here for four months, and haven’t explored the immediate neighborhood as well as i could. today i ran around the perimeter of crystal lake for a few laps, given that i didn’t want to run on slick sidewalks (this is actually a great test of agility, but bad if you want to relax). the lake is frozen, and with the headphones on, it’s all totally motionless and silent. and then the green line rolls silently by on the opposite shore, with its sickly yellow and green lights tracing a line across the dark, with only the faintest reflection on the ice. it was beautiful.
