not as planned
now, goodness knows i do my share of complaining here, but lest my one and a half remaining readers think it excessive, let me assure them that life has, in fact, really been that annoying lately.
for instance, minutes after my earlier entreaty for starchy assistance in my quest for red sox tickets, the network at work disappeared for a little while. it took with it some of my work in pro/e, too. so, you know, awesome. i still haven’t gotten out of the virtual waiting room.
other than that, work went well, and then i went for a nice run. got cleaned up, got in my car to head down to halifax for my dad’s birthday dinner. hopped on route 9, car went vroom, and suddenly there came a rumbling. no, not that one, a different one than what i’ve grown accustomed to. i quickly pulled off on a side street by the t station at eliot. sure enough, my left front tire had disintegrated. now, my car’s been a good one for eight years, and i haven’t had really any expensive fixes (save for the shot transmission i’m living with now). but the dude goes through tires like a motherfucker. this is the third time that this one tire has failed catastrophically. i’ve lost track of the number of new tires i’ve bought. it’s a lot. and now, even though i’m probably buying a new car sometime soon, i’ll need another pair.
so, uh, fuck. it’s been a rotten week, probably one of the most frustrating weeks i’ve had since i left ptc. i’m tired. and fucking grouchy as hell. it’s unlike me. or is it, anymore. i have no fucking idea.
at least charlton won their match today. and grandma’s boy is on hbo. it can always be worse.
