underestimated
up to last monday, i had totally underestimated exactly how cool the iPod really is. but then i decided i needed one. and today it arrived. and wow. i managed to use 14 of 15 GB of it already. it is so tiny, but yet reassuringly solid enough that i don't feel like i'll break it. i had totally underestimated the coolness of having my entire cd collection with me, and it's surprising since itunes had me totally addicted from the start, too. anyway, moby explains it much better than i can anyway. and the funny thing is, at the time of its introduction, the mac faithful were thoroughly underwhelmed, and some went so far as to compare it to the cube (remember that? it seems so long ago now). and now, regardless of its (respectable) market share, it commands pretty much all of the mindshare, when one speaks of mp3 players. and damn, now i know why...

Hey, what's wrong with the cube? :) I'm not saying this because I own one or anything...
